My Pillow Tats

I am doing this because my very dear friend Carol sent me a photo of her cat snuggled up on a pile of pillows...not where he was supposed to be. But because Carol is stuck in the midst of a snow storm, hopefully the last heavy one of the winter, and I strained the hell out of my back (again) and can't focus on anything important because of the pain I decided to create these pages of photos of my critters. So it is putter here, putter there, groan here, groan there...yadi, yadi, yadi.

I so loved the pic of Thor snuggled up on those pillows. It brought back so many wonderful memories. Our beloved Critter Kids know where they love to be. But thanks to Carol's email I just went on a delightfully emotional journey down memory lane which I will share with you.

Below and on other pages are my Pillow Tats...not Putty Tats, not Puddy Tats, not even Normal Tats. Even though I had a severe cat allergy, I tried not to let them know they were the reason for it. But try as I may, they would find a way into my bedroom and naturally up onto my pillows. And if my sleep shirt wasn't stashed someplace safe, that was their absolutely best thing to snuggle up to, and into. They never got on anyone else's bed or bothered anyone else's things...just my stuff. They were never destructive, just hell bent for lecture to get into my things, especially my bed or on my desk or work area. You name it. I know they just wanted to be close to me, and there was no way I would push them away. But I tried to always have a sheet covering my bedding...not that it did much good, because when the cats wanted my pillows and blankets, they simply pulled the sheet down or off the bed.

We also had the most incredible dogs called Raja (pure white), then Sophia joined us and learned from Raja. When Raja passed on Nakeeta (Niki) joined us and we all learned from her. I will put up more pics of Raja, Soph and Nik a little later, because for today it was the cats who got to take center stage.

This first one is Sophia on my bed with Wakeeza. Wakeeza was the brother of Shadeezi, but he had long fur and was huge. Shadeezi was short haired and petite, but they all loved to snuggled up into my pillow and of course my sleep shirt. Soph knows she didn't belong up on my bed so was peaking at me, I think hoping I wouldn't see her on the bed. PS, Soph was also part wolf (a tiny part) so life with Soph meant living in the pack and me establishing my matriarchal authority...otherwise we were all number two and she was Numero Uno!

Next is my beloved love bug Niki. And of course Wakeeza is butt to butt with her...and of course, they are both up against my pillows!

Later I will show some pics of all of us travelling. Everyone loved our trips, and I never needed kennels. They all were trained that when I got their harnesses out they knew we were going somewhere, otherwise they never left the property without their harnesses on. One exception was when Soph and Nik met Carol's cat, back in early 1996. They not only left the property but were hot on Thor's heels as they chased him down the mountain back to his home. He never ventured far from home again, poor guy. He didn't know the dogs wanted to play.
